(I suppose this is the right section...)

Hello,

I am a new guy in this amazing world of lockpicking and I have some question!Firstly I would like to say that this is an amazing and unique forum..;-)

Well I like a lot this specific kind of hobby..But I am wondering if picking locks is legal?I mean that we are legal by spending our time with locks right?
We do not use our knowledge for illegal purposes..just for fun!

Secondly I am thinking about buying a Lock pit set(http://www.lockpickshop.com) but I dont know what to buy?Any help?
A good kit(50euro lets say..)

Finally I would like to thank you for your time...;-)

P.S>I am from Greece by the way...any greek people out there:):D

First of all welcome!!!It is indeed a fascinating world and to answer you question about legallity, yes it is legal as long as the locks you are picking are yours,it is as simple as that.once it becomes your profession the rules obviously change
I make up from your post that you do not have much experience yet?Is this correct?I advice you to read the items on this site that have been written sofar, especially the sticky,s are a good start,as for buying tools, start with a small kit with all the different picks, play around with them for a while, you will find what will work for you after a while.goodluck! :D

to make clear what I meant with the rules changing once you make picking locks your profession, the locks you pick are obvoiusly not yours anymore, the difference then is that the owner must give you a go ahead,I know I hear some people think DUHHHH!!!!! but still,it,s better to be clear 8)

Before anything bad happens, I advise you to stay away from those locks. They are not yours and you can accidentally break them by picking them. And if you get caught, you are in deep poo.

Other than that, welcome and have fun with your own locks :D

ooohh I forgot to mention that this specific picked lock was mine:P
so dont worry..:)

Secondly I would like to say that I dont have any luck on this hobby..
so I would better forget it..:(:(

And do you know why?Because I am an unlucky Greek citizen..
Here we do not have the right to spend our time picking locks because it is supposed to be illegal...So this means that if i buy something from the net I may be in deep trouble after while...

Shame...its an amazing world...but it will be just a dream for me...
:(
I am 17years old by the way...
