Hello All,

Has anyone of you heard of any school that provide lessons on lockpicking in Los Angeles or Washington D.C. area?

Be careful with picks around Washington DC, possession is a crime there. Because of this, I seriously doubt there will be a whole lot of lockpicking schools around...

If there are any technical colleges in your area they probably offer a course in locksmithing. Theres a chapter of ALOA a little ways away from where I live that have courses in a tech school. I'm going to see if I can have them send the material for the course to a tech school thats down the road from me so I dont have to do the 40 min commute.

the only one I've heard of is part of the security course that matt blaze runs. I'd imagine that there would be similar ones somewhere but they'd be few and far between. I'd also imagine that toool and ssdev would have their own picking schools..
Oh look! it's 2016!

Do you just want to learn lockpicking? Or all aspects of locksmithing in general?

logosys,

Thanks for the info.

Plot,

I am interested in only lockpicking. I do have some videos and pratice locks which I am working with right now. However, I just want to learn from a skilled person and actually see how they do it with the different types of locks.

Thanks
Ethan

Ethan:

Check out Mark Bates Associates or Lockmasters, both in Lexington, KY. Both excellent. Sorry, but they are smack dab in the middle of the country, but hey, if you are travelling from LA to DC, make the stop.
