winter apparall for call outs

Postby prag » 31 May 2008 10:20

Last week I had to do some "running around" in the rain. Long and short of the story is I got a flu and after more than a week I still am trying to get rid of it. Just got whole bag full of drugs mmm I mean medicine, hope it does the trick. The serious side of it is that I lost a day at work

You guys on the otherside of the pond have more serious weather conditions than we in sunny S.A, so how do you cope. I'm seeing one of our suppliers on Monday to enquire about weather\water proof clothing for winter.

The serious side of it is that I lost a day at work and infected all my guys at work. It also costed me a small fortune in medical bills and trying to explain to clients that we are short staffed and they will have to wait. Not a lot of clients are patient these days. Imagine the week I had with little or no staff.

I have the a similar problem here, though it's with my back. I have a really messed up back and some days it hurts so bad I can't even stand upright, let alone go out on a call. I just don't make any money on those days.

I was thinking of getting something like that which alluminates incase we do night callouts. The last thing is to get knocked over while opening a car.

I had a look at one place already, but this was far out of my financial reach. It was a mountain climbing jacket. Was close to $200. I had one before but after one useage it tore :!: The search continues. Will let you guys know and maybe a foto included.

Something like the jacket Here would be a good start and cheap too. I think it's more what Parapilot was suggesting rather than a mountaineering shell jacket.
