I'd be all up ons if we had a nice pick being made... I've been wanting to play with the queen and King picks... perhaps we could have a round of those made... I'd gladly pay 5 bucks for them... or some other nice interesting pick.. I wouldn't want to do it for a short hook or something...
I wish the world was flat like the old days, and I could travel just by folding the map.

I downloaded their program and made 2 simple rakes in it, use .024" spring steel, 2 picks on the design, selecting a finish to smooth any edges, with laser cutting, cost for each set of 2, if 100 sets are ordered, is 1.03 per set... Not too bad... if only one pick is on the design, it is .82 per pick... so with 2 on the design... it would only cost about .52 cents per pick... perhaps we could get "Lockpicking101.com" on the handle too....

Oh that would be hot!
/me wants lockpicking101.com picks!!
I forgot whose sig has that banner for lp101, which is an animated pic of a pick lifting up some of the letters - that would be sweet. (not animated of course) - I would be willing to design a lp101 logo to put on the pics, if anyone is interested.

Romstar... I didn't know you did that! I'd read you saying things about making picks, but I thought that was just for local friends and such... thats cool... I'll keep it in mind...

I'm currently downloading the software, and i'll be designing some picks. I'm sure the old lp101ers will know about my previous CAD work.
I will be of course posting the file for everybody to use (if the program will let me).

Heres my first quick throw out, which i got by using vectoring so some of the lines are not totally straight.
Problem- thicknesses in lateral plane is 1.2mm min with 0.8mm carbon steel thickness, so throws up error. If you don't have any idea what i mean, look for yourself.
Answer- Fix the problem yourself! I'm going to sleep!
So if you want the file, PM me with your email, and i'll send it. I'll probably be mass emailing, so make sure you give me an email address you dont mind others knowing.

Oh yeah, I've gotten some strange requests over the last several months.
If you've ever seen the HPC double ended professional picks, I got a request for duplicates of those picks, only with gold handles. I don't mean brass, and I don't mean gold plate. I mean 14K gold handles. Special engraving on one side.
Since I am still having some supply problems with the rivets, I have been putting off that request for a while. I have quite a long time to finish the order though, so I should be fine.
Let me tell you though, the customer is paying for the handle blanks and engraving up front on an order like this. I'm certainly not going to get stuck with a load of gold blanks I can't use.

I think that it starts a whole new security industry category: Stylish Non-Destructive Entry.

I would take a 14 carat gold handle, how much are the handles?

I'm still waiting on a quote for the cost of the handle blanks, so I haven't got the cost of them yet.
The reason why these were asked for is because they are for the guy's father. The father is a locksmith of many years, and they are a cross between a birthday present and an aniversary gift.
They had to be pefectly functional, and still be something presentable.
I like that idea though, "stylish non-destructive entry". I like the sound of that.
