so today i thought i would take apart my master 930 (5 pins). I have never taken a lock apart before, so i got the cylinder out then the bottom pins. I turned the key all the way around again and took out the top pins. Now heres the issue. How do I put the top pins back in? the springs keep me from putting them in the right place. what does i do?

that isnt as helpful as i would like. The plug in the shell does not seem to be removable thus making a plug follower sort of not helpful at all. :P i will take picures soon to help you guys, but im not in any hurry.

Have you removed the circlip? a litte horseshoe shaped peice of metal which stops the cylinder slipping out? Just a possibility.

In future they may be screwed on, I'm guessing by having asked there arn't screws. If you bend it getting it off its no big deal they bend back easy.

Also I find having them removed makes it a little easier when starting you can notice when you've got beyond the last pin easier.

Sounds like it's an older master cylinder that has a crimped spot holding the plug in.
In this case you have to turn the plug so the flat spot running down the plug lines up with the crimp, the slide it out.

Another possability is you have the springs jambed in the pin chambers, as you've removed the top and bottom pins but not the plug.
Either you will need to lift the springs up out of the plug into the bible, or force the plug out damaging the springs and maybe even scratching the surfaces of the plug and cylinder.
