It is one of the very few locks in which manufacturing/possession/duplication of the key for is regulated by federal law.

I don't even know why you had it in your basement. That's a lock restricted by law.

On that note, I noticed they're starting to change out locks on USPS receptacles with what appears to be Medeco

Looks like a cheap version of a Lips twin lever lock.

i kind of figured it was restricted by law when i saw it said "U.S. MAIL" on the back of the lock...

P.s. if the keys are all the same why did they put the numbers on the plates?
isn't that secret or classified information?

I was about to move this into the advanced section, but there's really nothing in these pictures that gives away any secrets of the lock...that said, are you interested in selling it? I've been fascinated by USPS locks since I did some seasonal mail carrier work and discovered the extreme key restrictions.

I say identical cuts. Even though looks like maybe not.

Each side is different... but the cut are not the original cut for the lock, i rearranged the plates. but i still have the original plate arrangement numbers on paper.
