Do YOU recognize this burg lock?

Postby yng_pick » 18 Jun 2008 8:14

Hi!

I have been looking for a replacement lock for a customer.

It is a lock that came off a boat door.

The customer has a key, and said that it says 'burg' on it.
The lock itself also says "Made in Italy International Patents Pending."

On either lever there is a logo that looks similar to this:

We have been in contact with burg wachter, and they do not recognize the lock.

Here is a couple pictures we took of the lock:

clicked submit to early!

Still have two more pictures- one more of the lock, and one of the plastic rings it uses to keep the lock from moving around.

If anyone recognizes this lock, it would be a great help!

Thanks!

could be just a Burg key blank that fits the Italian keyway.
Italian lock companies would be e.g. CISA or Mottura.

Cheers,

+1. Just because the key says Burg does not mean that is the brand of the lock.

One of this pictures that I didnt manage to upload was of a hexagon with two small lines on two of the sides-

One company we were talking to recognized it as the company symbol of Hoppe-

http://www.hoppe.com/

Of course all of their displayed hardware is different from what we are looking for. The lock is not too old- I believe it said it was manufactured in 1997 on the lock. We are in contact with one of the U.S. distributors, who are researching it atm.

Seems most their hardware is multipoint locking systems or handlesets- maybe this lock is made specifically for a particular companies use or something along those lines.
