Master lock # 3 question

Postby itisjustme1 » 22 Jun 2008 6:15

I was given a box of master Master #3's, oh well there has to be a good 2 dozen in the box and all locked and used.

Well I was going to pick and decode them to make keys for each one but I noticed some of them are not an M1 or 1K keyway but many are Master #3's with a 15K keyway and when I look at Masters biting charts from Master and in my Framon book I don't find the 15K keyway used on anything outside of the 15 series locks. Can anyone shed some light on this as why I have a mess of #3's with essentially a reverse M1 keyway.

TIA

I am sorry but I made an error and should have said some of the locks have an M15 or M2 keyway and I find this odd so I am wondering if this is some sort of a commercial mater keyed series.

Who sent them to you? Maybe it was a super, or a maintanance man at an institution of some kind. Perhaps they requested an abnormal keyway? Just a guess.
