Masterlock locks how many pins any security pins master lock

I have a cheap 141D from Walgreens (I was desperate) and it has 2 spools like my 140.

You got a 40 with no security pins? I have yet to find one of these without at least a spool and a serrated. Did you dissassemble it? Maybe you are so light on the wrench you didn't notice.

I've tried heavy tension, light tension, and everything in between. Surprisingly it is one of the easiest locks I've opened to date.

Took a trip to "Ace Hardware" looking for one of those "American" knock-offs. I couldn't find one so I bought some more locks. I was tempted to pick up a 533, maybe next time!

Master no.130 has security pins in all 5 that I have there's at least 1 spool. Maybe you got lucky.

I just bought a Master 530 today my guess is
#pins=5 Security =no (too bad )

I wish that I'de read this post earlier today because a few hours ago I had about 4 "True-value" employees standing around trying to figure out how many pins were in the Master locks they had in stock. I ended up settling with a 930DPF.

I just found theses old master locks I cant find a name I am doing some research now and will tell everyone how many pins

I made myself a present for Christmas... and I've just opened it
It took me hours to figure out I had to use much force than usual to set the pins.
I couldn't pick it until I tried this: after opening it with the key, I left the arc open and turned back the cylinder. Then I could pick it with almost no force on the wrench.
After this I tried again with the arc closed and it required much more force to set the pins and pick it.





The code written on the envelope is M5DLH, I couldn't find any info about it. I know it has 4 pins, I think there aren't any security pins.

I believe it will take the same amount of force to set the pins. What you're experiencing is a need for much more rotational force to overcome the locking mechanism's spring in order to pop the shackle (what you called an arc)

A good method I have used in this situation is rocking or wobbling my tension wrench from light to medium pressure as I pick the lock. You will notice as you pick that suddenly the plug will rotate just a few more degrees than normal, signaling that the cylinder is picked to shear line, then you can apply much more pressure in order to overcome the spring and turn the cylinder and pop open the shackle.
