Brinks Shrouded Core Removal

I know this has been covered a few times, but i've been trying to remove the core recently. I have 2 of these locks, and I notice that there are smole holes in the key way just like a Best brand lock. Does this mean that the Brinks Shrouded has a Control shear line you can pick it to to remove the core? I've searched the lock top to bottom and there isn't a screw that can be removed to remove the core.

If the above is not possible, can someone help me devise a way to remove the core by destroying the casing yet not the core itself so that I can make a cutaway. I dont want to mess this up, cause these locks are like $10 a piece.

It has holes in the plug??? *grabs his to check* indeed it does... hrmm... interesting...

all I and those I talked with on here ever came up with is that one must do something to the pin in the side or perhaps in the hole where they've plugged it on the back.. but if I were guessing, the plug on the back has something to do with the shackle... I'd say the pin in the side might be the key.. but I don't know... try it and find out... :-)

Apparently the shackle can be removed with a hex key?? I dont see where or how I can do that, theres no screw visible on the bloody thing. I didn't quite understand the second bullet point either.

There's gotta be a way to remove this core.

i have one and i'm pretty sure you have to drill out the pin on the side. Foley Belsaw sells a tool for doing this but i can't find their catalog so i don't know what its called.

probally but i would recomend center punching the pin and mounting it in a vice before going at it.

I've tried center punching it, and thought it receeded into the body of the lock somewhat, it stopped after a certain length. And the result is the key is now very hard to operate in the lock. So time to try the BD pick. I have two of these locks anyways, and this one I got for free. Can't argue with that. If I make a decent cutaway of it, i'll take some pictures. I'll also update success/failures I make along the way.

Ok, Heres how it went. I drilled the pin on the side of the lock and it worked. Heres what you do:

1.) Open the lock with the key.
2.) drill the pin, but not too far. you do not need to drill all the way through for the core to be removed, in fact I drilled too far and ended up damaging one of the springs, but luckily I had an extra one. Just keep testing if the core removes by pulling on the key while its in the core.
3.) once the core is removed make sure you have all the pins and springs out of the plug as well. You can then remove the plug if you wish by drilling the rest of the side pin. Note: Drilling the pin all the way through will make it such that the core is not able to lock into place anymore.

I'm gonna play around with this a little more, maybe make a cutaway.
