old army spec american lock

my roomate handed me this, it was his lock for his footlocker in the army, it's a pain to pick, i havn't even gotten a false set on this blasted thing yet, it has like almsot NO feedback, that or im not sensative enough for this lock yet =( either way enjoy!

and it has wicked pinning, as seen by the key, ya'd think it'd be a simple pick but it's not

I have one of those. Every one I have seen is pinned really tough. Small hook and light tension.

That's pretty slick, looks different than the American lock that I have.

i've tried, the bigest problem is i can't get any feedback so i dunno where my pins are going =(

You may find better feedback if you use some spray cleaners to get any reside and gunk out of there. you can try WD-40, CRC Brakleen is not good for you, but it will clean anything. hit it a couple times with the spray down the keyway, then let the junk run out and onto a paper towel.

After it dries, hit it with Silicone Spray Lubricant

now try picking it, and for better results, use a top of keyway tension wrench, it wont slip out as much as using a bottom keyway wrench, especially in the American Lock keyways.

Mm, i'll have to make a top keyway wrench, all i got is the longer bottom ones o.o; but thanks for teh info =D
