Hi. I just joined. Looks like a lot of good info here. I got the mailer from Foley-Belsaw and got interested. Wondering if it's something I want to get serious about. See y'all around.

Found your site through one of my colleagues. I am highly pleased with the level of information that you guys have posted.
That said, I have come to help further my locksmithing skills and further my home business. I have been a self-employed locksmith for 7 years and now own my own shop. It's nice being able to talk with real locksmiths that are different from colleagues at work.
Have a very nice day!

I am new here.I have worked FOR a locksmith doing paperwork and dispatching. Now I am looking into training for this as my career.I am not just going to jump right in,as impulsiveness is not my thing.I tend to think things over very well.So I am not going to jump at the first locksmith school that I find.
Anyway,nice to be here.

Glad to have you! Most of the new signups are professionals of one variety or another. Glad to hear you are enjoying the field and we are all about learning. Welcome! donaldharris wrote:I just joined this forum and I am still trying to catch up with all the technical stuff, like how to post, and what I can't post in here. See how it goes. By the way, I own a business in Denver, Colorado, it is a professional locksmith company.
Hah, well, getting the hang of the BBCode can be annoying - there is a test thread somewhere and also a guide on it, sorry I don't really have them handy, but you get used to it pretty quick. Glad you found us, though, always nice to see more career guys signing up. gasterpend wrote:Hi. I just joined. Looks like a lot of good info here. We have a lot of folks who have done that course at one time or another. You should be able to find ready advice and opinions when you start poking around. Glad to have you here. midknight414 wrote:Found your site through one of my colleagues. I am highly pleased with the level of information that you guys have posted.

Congrats on the shop! That's excellent. Nice to have you on the forum and I think you're going to like it here. Lot of other locksmiths kicking around and plenty of us hobbyists too. jimk wrote:I am new here.I have worked FOR a locksmith doing paperwork and dispatching. Now I am looking into training for this as my career.I am not just going to jump right in,as impulsiveness is not my thing.I tend to think things over very well.So I am not going to jump at the first locksmith school that I find.

Sounds like you're taking the appropriate approach here. This is definitely a good testing ground for your interest and you'll find a lot of folks who have played around with the idea of making this a career. Many go on to make it happen. Myself? I made the leap and decided I preferred it as a hobby. As far as school's are concerned, we have folks who have been through any number of programs, so if you are wondering about a particular one, have a search around, and if you don't find the info you need, go ahead and ask, you'll more than likely find someone with an opinion kicking around TN Hillbilly wrote:Just joined and still kinda looking around. Welcome! I used to spend a lot of time up your way. I grew up in Northern Vermont, even dated a Quebecois girl for a while. She was pretty.

Hey folks,
Heard about this site through an article in the Globe and Mail. Good timing too... because my Yakima Roof Rack is locked to my car, the rack dealership's master key set does not have the keys to it (locks are more than 5 years old), and I can't get the rack off without either drilling out the locks (Damaging the rack), or pulling the rack off manually (Damaging the car). See? There are TOTALLY legitimate purposes for learning how to pick a lock!
