I have the key and I'm able to rekey the lock so I know the exact solution. No security pins.

So far I can pick it with 3 pins in.

But the situation where the back pin requires high setting has not occurred yet. It's more of a theoretical problem right now. Eventually I will rekey it that way though.

The warding is not the problem necessarily, but if they weren't in the way it would be much easier to get at pin5 without touching pin1.

Turns out all my driver pins are mushrooms (not exactly...more like hammer heads). I noticed when I went back to only 2 pins, pin#1 false sets low, then correctly sets high. Then I realized that while my driver pins aren't exactly mushroom shaped, they are providing the same functionality.

Looks like I didn't pick the easiest lock to start out on. At least now I know.

I kinda figured this might be the case when you said it was a 700 series. You are right about it not being the easiest lock to start out with, but it isn't impossible. Just be careful not to use so much tension you damage the lock and you should be fine. Featherlight tension and you should be able to feel them set, but not false set them. Good luck.
