Making picks and wrenches from hacksaw blades (if you have a dremel or grinder) or windsheild wiper inserts (if you only have hand tools). There are GREAT tutorials here!

Take the plunge!! Search for "Bogota" and get yourself a chainsaw file, flat file, pair of 6" visegrips and assorted sand/emery paper and you're in business. It doesn;t take long and you'll SAVE a lot by trying pick patterns and styles out that you make yourself before taking the plunge and buying the high end stuff.

Or if you want to save the time, don;t have the ttols, are uncertain of your pick-making ability- buy one of the starter sets for under $20 and support the fine LP101 supporter. Or check out the local Army-Navy store or gunshow. Any of the basice sets have the basic patterns you need. A hook, snake rake, diamond and a couple of different sized tension wrenches are about it. Add in some of the ball patterns if you want to try doublew sided wafer locks.
