My HomeBrew PickSet

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Let me be the first to say for a 1st attempt you did a great job putting together a pretty complete set in a nifty homebrew case.

Those are some good looking Falle style picks. I wouldn't wanna use the pointy handles on some of the others so much, but they look really wicked. You've got a good assortment of tensioners. Vertical, horizontal, and I don't know if I see any angle cuts, but lots of sizes to choose from. Some really nice stuff. To bad about the wavy part of the blade kinda taking away from the shiny. I never took the edge off my blades either, and it has come in handy a couple times. Really cool man, thanks for sharing.

P.S. Your snowman has a crick in his neck.

goth picks

Postby raimundo » 20 Jul 2008 9:11

very gothic looking. Now you should write them into a movie script.
Seriously, I have made special picks just for the movie screen, usually I make something a bit wider than a normal pick as these things are small and it may be better to have something that will show on camera and not just be a closeup of fingers, but actually show the actors face, while still getting some part of the tool to show up.
Noticed that that new show on cable "burn notice" puts on two seconds of actualy lockpicking, and the other day, he actually explained checkwashing and demonstrated it in one of the shows. the actor and the writing are a bit smarmy but when I watch it Im looking for him to 'bust a move', do something interesting and real, but checkwashing is a bit over the top.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!

the longest one is the hook with the gothic style handle and it's 6inches long.. it's a bit to long but i did some like that telling me that I can cut them later if it's realy to long! the shorter hook is 4inches long .. i hope that give you and idea. i'll take a picture with a ruler asap.
