My first + questions!

Finally my first plug turning. My parents didn't accept me having picks at that time (I ordered mine yesterday the RPG-7) so I used my friends recently received southord jackknife. I raked it. It was a papaiz CR30. It feels so weird when the plug turns... Anyway I couldn't really see what you all mean by feeling pins, I'm not sure what it's meant to feel like because I couldn't feel much... I could really feel what you sort of describe... Is it me, the picks or what? Also, I can open a bunch of these CR30's except one or two, why? I'm really happy and thanks with all your amazing tutorials on how the lock works and stuff I understand it pretty much now. I'll try and be a more active member of the community and all seem to be really nice people!

Jackknife picksets offer horrible feedback: it's not particularly surprising that you couldn't feel the pins, if this was your first attempt at picking... and I would highly suggest that you try a more traditional pickset for starting out.

As for the "RPG-7", I'm assuming that's a Southord pickset... but the only references that I could quickly find through Google were to rocket propelled grenades. Assuming it's composed of individual picks, rather than some sort of jackknife assembly, it will serve you much better for getting into the hobby.

Are you sure you mean RPG-7? Lockpicktools.com sells a pickset called the FPS-7 or Folding Pick Set. The link below shows both of these sets side by side. I have both these sets and the FPS-7 has definitely worked out much better for several reasons mentioned elsewhere.

Ah. In that case, I think you'd have more luck with the RPG-7 than either the JPXS-6 or the FPS-7.
