I wonder how that came up? I knew about Feynman, but the info about charles babbage was new to me. add that to Louis XVI

I believe he is referring to how nice it would have been to have a challanging (safe) job like locksmithing, as apposed to what the American government had him do. E=MC2 was equated in time for Oppenheimer to almost finish what he started. If you remember he died of radiation poissoning.

He's talking about other people who are famous for other things, but also dabbled in locks/security. Richard Feynman was a nuclear physicist who was fascinated by safe cracking, and Louis XVI was a French king who also did a little work with locks. One video I saw in World History quipped, "He was a locksmith who couldn't find the keyhole," in a reference to his inability to produce children.

The reference to charles babbage was relating to another thread where he is mentioned as interested in locks.

THe charles babbage reference is from this forum a recent post in a thread called "Article on Cnet.
Ranger 150 mentions that Charles Babbage was a lockpicker. Im not suprised that someone who invented what he did dabbled in this. 8)
