Hey guys i'm looking for some decent videos on lockpicking. They can be about theory, documentary, anything. What i'm not looking for is the vast number of videos that have someone opening a lock.. I've seen people pick locks and as cool as it is, it gets old. Any links much appreciated!

Lol, nice link, It's really just a matter of searching for them, it's really not that tough, you can also try metacafe or some other video streaming site.

There are many, many videos here on this site. It's just a matter of searching for them. Not many members here are going to do that for you. As I said yesterday, use the advanced options on google search and you will find them.

Watching videos to learn lockpicking theory is like watching the Superbowl and then trying out for the local college football team.
I recommend you just start practicing, with a real pick set and some decent locks. Don't start on Made in China 40mm padlocks, Franklin jimmy proof locks from Home Depot, or "high security" laminated padlocks from the dollar store. A lot of people I know went down that road when starting and it wasn't the best thing to do. Stop by a local locksmith shop and say you want to buy a Schlage mortise cylinder 5 pin with a key and some spool pins installed. Then go home take it apart, learn what all the parts are and then install 1 pin stack and pick that for a day or two, then move on to more pin stacks until all 5 are pinned up and you can pick it. Practice is the best way to learn, not a video.
If you are convinced that you need to see some animations or something Deviant has some animated gifs of pins moving up and down and how security pins work.
here's his main site somewhere in there is the stuff I'm talking about

One video I found informative was "A Visual Guide to Lockpicking". The guy's voice was kinda annoying but it gave a good picture of whats going on in several different types of locks and how to pick them.
It comes with a book but you can probably find the video by its self somewhere or on a torrent site maybe...

I've seen pretty much all the videos there on learning to lock pick on youtube. I'm not trying to learn how to pick locks through videos, i'm more looking for documentarys on locks/lockpicking and disassembling of locks.

It really is easiest to pick a lock if you know how one works, take it apart and put it back together.

I believe a Modern Marvels episode on locks is as good as it gets. I do not have a link to it.
The video topic you are looking for is so specific it would probably not draw much of an audience, except for us for course and maybe some locksmiths who actually like locks and aren't just locksmiths because its just the job they happen to get.
Some of the manufacturer sites may have animated flash videos of how their nice locks work, and some service manual PDF files of how to take apart the locks and all the parts and part numbers, that may help your quest. Ingersoll Rand (Schlage) has such a site dedicated to service manuals and literature.
good luck

Do a google search for different lock makers. They have rekey guides available on their site and some have videos as well.

We do not rip off others works, so suggestions of downloading illegal copies of others work is a nono.
