k and q

I think the concept is to try to make it open certain key bittings by profile,
I mean keys with a long pin behind a short pin near the tip and vise versa. there are some on the forum that use them and like them, Ask Schyler. in my opinion this attempt to make an approximation of certain general key profiles is like a computer set of jigglers, with some of the general profiles missing.
I personally am not convinced that they would be very useful, but they have to work somewhere. Maybe all the k&q pickers should start a thread and talk about how they work for them. I personally have no interest in this style.

They were originally supposed to mimic common kwikset key biting and used as profile picks like raimundo said. I believe they were computer generated picks by Romstar, but correct me if I'm wrong.

I personally never really got the hang of using the standard king and queen. I have never made more, so I'm afraid I can't be a tremendous help. I do use columbian royals fairly often, but the method for those is practically identical to a bogota.

I think your best bet is to start jamming them into any lock they will fit into and hammer on 'em till you get results  Seriously though practice with them and you'll probably get the hang of it. I used the king with a gentle rocking motion, and the queen in much the same way except with the halfdiamond tip it's easier to rock the pick up to set high front pins then spp the rest with the tip.
