Brianpojo56 Picks

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Here's my competition pick

The handle is made of molded silver solder. Having a solid metal handle molded around the pick seems to do a lot for feedback. There's more to come once I get all the water cleared out of my work area (Tropical Storm Fay).

Here's a few picks from an unfinished set, the picks are made of wiper inserts and the handles are two part epoxy putty. A small hook and bogota style rake.

Sorry for the picture quality.

I really like the silver solder handles, I imagine they will feel pretty good - Just enough weight to them to feel sustantial, while still light enough to be sensitive.

Good idea - Well done!

Oh, and you might want to let them know what it was you bought:

Just out of curiousity, I typed in the UPC code from the barcode you had the pick on, into Google as they can find them directly, but they failed completely on this one... :D

Bee Pop Size 6 made by Betts. It's a kind of fly lure for fly fishing

I like it that you beat Google on the UPC code as well...

I'm sure many of you have seen those little screwdrivers that double as a business card. The cheap little things that you can order in bulk and have your business name and phone number printed on them. Here's a modified one. (Most of the business name was scratched off)

Half-diamond is my personal favorite.

The back side holsters a small tension wrench.

Compact, portable, and it fits in your shirt pocket.

Stainless steel short hook made out of a butter knife next to an HPC spring steel short hook.

The feedback is incredible, it's just not comparable.

How's the strength? Looks real nice, any more finer sanding to be done?

I had to sand the pen pick a little bit because the epoxy putty got on the pick blade and kind mucked it up. For the stainless steel pick that's about as far I felt was needed, the blade is nice and smooth and devoid of tool marks, the handle had a few striations from the grinder but they're not abrasive.

Nice tools, I especially love that butter knife pick. Looks like it would work quite well :) .

I realize this is somewhat unrelated to my lock picks, but I just wanted to announce that I just got my results back from the PRP exam with ALOA. I am now a Certified Registered Locksmith.
