Well I was on vacation and came back about two weeks ago. I can pick my door lock and bathroom door. Is it easy because I've been practicing on the same locks? my brother bought me a lock. Its one of those lever one used in office doors. I have been trying the past two weeks to open it but I can't. Is this like a high security lock or am I doing something wrong.

First answer............ yes, the more you pick a particular lock, the easier it will be to pick the next time on so on. You get familiar with the binding order, and the certain characteristics of that lock.

By "lever" lock, do you mean a "key in knob" lock on a lever style handle, or an actual lever lock?

Also, I will mention, you shouldn't practice on a lock you depend on everyday. Stuff can, and will happen, preventing it from working properly. Sorry about writing that part, but if I didn't, somebody else would have sooner or later.

And my question is, what kind of lock do you have on your bathroom door? At the risk of sounding stupid, do people put REAL cylinders on bathroom locks? Is this a non-USA thing?

Most bathroom doors have a very simple lock which can be opened with a paperclip or the like, office doors are more likely to be higher security (no need to rescue whoever slipped in the shower). If you can get us any markings or names on the locks, or a picture of the lock or the key, it would go a long way towards helping you find the problem.
Also, what have you been using to pick it?
