Hello all,
I got such a helpful response the last time I posted here that I took everyones advice and got a Kwikset deadbolt and a few master padlocks to practice on while I'm at home. I've found that I can pick the Kwikset and the masters without too much trouble.
I went to hang out at a friend's house yesterday, and I had my picks in my bag, so I asked if he had a padlock I could practice on (he used to live in a worse neighborhood, so I figured he might have a lock or two he didn't use anymore). And to be fair, I told him that damaging the lock was a possibility, and he said he was fine with that.
So he hands me this padlock, and I start to work on it as we start a movie. I was trying with this thing for the better part of half an hour trying my W rake, half diamond, and lifter pick with various amounts of tension, and I couldn't get it to budge at all. Much harder than my masterlocks.
I was curious, so I looked up the lock model when I got home, and I am pretty sure it was a LAI Group B745

Pictured in the lower right corner. Does anyone have any special information or tips about that kind of lock? I'm still fairly new to lockpicking, so I'm still in the process of trying to find as much info as I can.
Thanks much!
