Looks Great!

What a very unique looking case. Almost like an armored car for your picks!

Is it heavy? I would think it is not for carrying in your pocket. But I bet the ladies would love it. :wink:

Nothing beats a tool or accessory that you build yourself.

I see holes for a padlock to lock the case, but I see no padlock.

or a Medeco cam lock or something interesting to lock it up with =)

Locking up your lockpicks... It's genius. I'm not kidding, that is actually a cool idea and I didn't notice it the first time I wandered into this thread. Is that what the holes are for, or is it for some future addition?

Great looking case by the way. Nice welding job. Bullet proof indeed. A pound is pretty substantial how do you plan to carry it? My solution was to the weight problem buy a 2 inch wide belt, tougher cargo pants, and man up. It's working out pretty well for me, except the buttons keep shooting off and everywhere I go I probably look like I'm shoplifting. If it were socially acceptable I'd wear a MOLLE vest all the time and just wear my toolbox. Awesome...

What is it you used to secure the pick handles in the case like that so they are standing up as opposed to laying them flat as in most cases. Looks like it is specifically deisgned to hold six picks. Does each pick have its own space in the case? Thats a good idea especially for packing so your picks don't get bent up if something rolls onto of them. One question and its off topic: Have you really found a use for the double ball pick?

Haha Tooly, you're my brother! MOLLE is always in fashion.

I wear a TacTailor rigger's belt to suspend my bat-belt, and wear Riggs Ranger cargo pants or shorts pretty much 24/7. My Leatherman pouch alone weighs over a pound, and then add in the Fenix flashlight, Crackberry, LM bit kit and first aid essentials. I'm going (still working on the insert) ultra-small for my pick case: a 4"x2.5"x.5" Sony memory card case. It still says Sony on it. :lol:

And won't even make a difference adding it to one of my cargo pockets!

wow thanxs guys for the sweet words.. the back part is stainless, but the rest is hardened steel.

@apb:: it is not unnecessarily for six picks, I just cutted some foam randomly.. I'll post other pictures in the future of the evolution.. of it

and no, the snowman pick is pretty useless to me.

samfishers: So, I'm to assume that the holes are for some kind of hinge or something since you didn't mention a lock. I'd enjoy seeing the finished product when your done. I gotta ask, why two different types of steel? Maybe you could rivet a spring clip to the back of it for carrying on your belt. I'm sure you've though about it, but I'm just puttin it out there.

Once I figure out what I can use for a pick case that would be secure enough to put a lock on I'm going for it. You've inadvertantly inspired me with your cool case. I've got a buddy that is a member of the steel workers union. Maybe I can bribe him to make me a cool case, or get me into his shop for a day. Hmmm.

I was gonna call you a creepy Brit, but apparently you're right. :mrgreen:

Everyone is always "what's with the first aid kit" until someone slices their hand with a razor blade, then there hollering for the jerk with the pocket first aid kit so they can get some sterile gauze and New Skin. It's a hard habit to ditch, I carry around a case in the car with athletic tape and first aid gear too. It's a lifesavor for when someone sprains an ankle or gets a bad cut. Would you rather use your shirt for a bandage, or sterile gauze? Maybe if you say pretty please I'll tape up that rolled ankle so you can get to the car. Doesn't happen often, but when it does everyone's glad I can't leave the house without a footlockers worth of crap on me.

Wish I had enough dough for a nice multitool like the leatherman, or a Zillatool. Most of the time I'm stuck with a crummy knockoff. It works good, but it hurts my hand to use very long and I still have to carry another pair of small needle nose pliers and a couple small screwdrivers in my bigger pick case anyway. My little usb flash drive case is 3.5"x1.5"x.75" and I've got 16 picks and 4 tensioners in it, maybe more. Hangs right on my belt for easy access, and depending on where I'm at usually next to my glock field knife. By the time I get my toothpick, wallet, cellphone, notepad, a lock or two, my keys, led pen light and whatever other fool things I am toting around in my pockets I'm getting pretty heavy.

Wish I had a bat belt. I'd even have a few locked pockets on it. Yeah, that would be cool. Not padlocks though, hardcases with built in locks. Totally cumbersome and unnecessary. Stupid cool. The world needs more impractical, heavy, useless, cool crap like that and samfishers pickcase. Sweet

Creepy Brit? I'm offended! We might be in the Commonwealth, but I'm Canadian eh? But I am creepy! I looked at USB drive cases, but they seemed too small and flimsy. I need something that won't bend itself and the picks in it if I happen to crush it in my pocket or otherwise mistreat it!

I love shinny stainless. You have so many options.
May I add one touch,, rivet a magnet strip on the under side and give at a nice place in the open. I have tools hanging everywhere, a little hide in plain sight??
