1st lock pick ideas

im going to make my first lockpick set 6-8 lock picks out of hacksaw blades what are the "best"lock picks for a beginer . i mostly pick padlacks

hook picks are the best for pin-tumbler type locks

For hacksaw blades, i hope you have a dremel or a grinder. I would make various sizes of hooks with them, because to make nice rakes and stuff you have to file a lot in my experience. i also recommend sanding them for maximum smoothness, and keeping them cool while cutting or grinding so as not to loose the temper.

I like a small half-diamond and a shallow falle style hook; they're the ones like a long sweeping curve.

I started with a hook and it worked well but it was a bit difficult to move. Then I tried a small half diamond and it was better than the hook for small keyholes. Then I made a small hook... now it's my first choice for padlocks.

Olson Burry, for what kind of lock do you suggest shallow falle style hook?

I like using a doubble ball, half ball,diamond pick is my favorite at the moment,and snake rake. I get a good amount of practice with these when i started out

A hook and a diamant for raking is enough for a beginner.
More import is a good colletion of tension wrenches.
Later you can enhance your pickset.
If you have improved your skills then it's helpful to buy some different kind of hooks.

id say a half dimond or a sought of hooked dimond works realy well for most pad locks but you would want to build up veriety of picks cus for different locks youll need different pick one wont do it all if you no wat i meen
