I think the front page definitely needs some sprucing up. I agree completely with toomush2drink, the initial investment you make now in getting a professionally done website will pay big dividends later on. Think about it. If you spend $400 or so on a web page, it basically pays for itself if with just a few customers. I mean, in this day and age, the internet is probably going to be your primary means of advertisement, so you might as well make it look good.
Odds are it is not as expensive as you might think. There are probably dozens of computer type majors at one of the local universities who can make you something fairly decent for a cheaper price than a more expensive firm. Maybe just putting up a flyer in the school's computer science building is a good way to get leads. As long as they can show you some samples of their previous work, it shouldn't be too hard to find out what you are paying for.
Also, don't be afraid to borrow ideas. Do a Google search of locksmiths in some major cities and take a look at some of their web sites. Make a list of specific things on their sites that really stand out and try to incorporate them into your own.
