gun shows

well at gun shows very old locks turn up at a premium price. Last week I saw some very old locks some even said "Pony Express" on them but they wanted just too much for them but if you into locks like that and there is a gun show in your area, someone might be selling them

At gun shows, you might have better luck selling small cone shaped charges for instant access to high security locks. They have that burnt explosive smell that the people there like so much.

previous post was just me kidding, but then I got off an thought of the thing used in the movie "no country for old men" and also thought of the Hilti nail gun that shoots a nail into contcrete with a cartridge like a bullet. The police also have some shotgun rounds that take out locks, and whoevers in the room behind the lock. but they have a risk of some splinters backlashing so they have to wear armor and googles, I think this could be better designed perhaps with a captive bolt like the "no country thing" but without the bottle of compressed gas.

I believe you're thinking of breaching rounds. They're compressed metallic powder that dumps all the force from the shot into your target without rebounding. They're not usually used on locks, you're supposed to aim at whatever the lock is attached to, or more commonly the door hinges. It's like swinging a dead blow hammer at 600 feet per second.

If the lock said "Pony Express" it is definitely a fake/reproduction and not an old lock.

The guys at the booth selling those things usually have a box or two filled with locks because they just buy or collect a ton and then sort through them to find locks that are possibly rare. Ask them if they have some behind the both and they will probably be willing to sell them at a fair price.
