But *I* do it all the time. Just ones I don't rely on (maybe other people do).

Hehe, yes, his masterkey worked fine. The only wafer missing was one to make my key operable, but didn't effect the operation of his own. Upon repinning I realized that his key would, the entire time, have opened my lock. This was further proved when new tenants came to check the place out and were let in by the landlord who, presumably, used his master.

hahaha, wow, nice bump. And to think of how far Schulyer's come since then. All the way from disabling his deadbolt in 2006 to winning the Gringo Warrior Challenge in 2008!

Sorry for bumping (no pun intended) this old thread... but perhaps the Landlord didn't have a master key. Maybe the lock was mastered for construction purposes by the builders. The reason is that you mention it is an apartment, and usually these are construction keyed...
Again, I know this thread is old, but I couldn't help but say that... Not that it matters anymore of course...

Wow, talk about bringing up an old thread.... Interesting I never read this though, I had something similar happen when picking a friends house lock to show off (I know, dumb idea ) but once I turned the cylinder and was inside, it wouldn't turn back. I ended up sticking the house key into the lock and jiggling it around and somehow, was able to return the lock to normal position. I assumed that it was just because the lock was so old. Talk about a wierd lock though, the keyway was literally a half cm wide.
