Animation: How a lock works.

Hey there,
I made a lock thats being opened with a key. Going to make it open by picking it too, but aint got much time right now.
Anyways, I guess all of you know how a lock looks like at the inside, but I posted it just because I thought I would share it with you guys.

It's a "fast" render, so the quality is crap. But you can see the quality in the 2 photos I posted too. One note, is that the key has no details yet, but that will come. Middle of exams and stuff, so aint got too much time. =/
IF when I'm done, anyone will use it in any way, please let me know. As I said, I wil pick it poen too, and that will be great to use for demonstration purpose.

I wont be able to do any more these next days, as I'v got a lot of work to do. But I hope to get an update soon. Remake of the key, and when all exams is finnished, I'll do a full highres render. (estimated 60 hours or so :S And thats with a fairly new computer. This one took 6 hours.)

I animated it in 3ds max, yes. I hope I will be able to make the animation as smooth as the pictures. (it will be, but have to wait after exam to render it out).
(if anyone of you know of a renderfarm, please let me know ^^)

Also, the key will be remade, for more details. And the lock will be hand picked (simulated) Hopefully this will be a nice explanation of how it all works Might add a security-pin or two..

I was gonna say, it would be excellent if Stianbl could partner with people in the locksport to make some professional-grade visuals for things like con presentations and lock enthusiast magazines. I can't wait to see some mockups of the higher security locks... not dissimilar to that cutaway animation that Mul-T-Lock did for their MT5. How great would that be?

How precise 3ds max can be? max can be as precise as you want But i ont know how precise I will be ^^
This was really my first try at a lock (inside). I just thought it would be nice to illustrate it. I'v done some models of pad locks too, but thats only from the outside (posting them below).

@ridinplugspinnaz: Would might work out But as I'v said, I ait got much time left these nex 2 weeks or so. Exams.
