What is the best pick to use on a Master Lock?

Postby Atalaya » 5 Dec 2008 17:31

Everybody has their own preference, and from my own practice, I've stuck with using the offset diamond.

Has anybody else had better luck with other picks?

As you say, everyone has their own preference. :)

I almost exclusively use hooks: personally, I find them more precise when dealing with extreme high/low pinnings. Having said that, there always seems to be a lock that refuses to open with my favourite hooks that opens fine with a diamond pick... and vice versa. I think it's 80% personal preference, 20% the lock.

I have always liked the hook, but recently started using the offset half diamond with good results.

I have had luck with both a hook and the half wave (sorry I don't know the correct terminology)

i have picked my various different master locks with pretty much every pick i have; hook, diamond, and rakes, but i stick to my hook most of the time.
