deadbolt troubles

Postby 7y50n » 6 Dec 2008 19:41

So today i bought a Dexter JD62. It's a 2 cylinder deadbolt. It's got 5 pins as far as i can tell (I'm new at this this is my first lock since i have gotten picks). Anyways i can't get it picked and i want to repin it but I'm not sure how as the back side of the plug different then the locks i have seen in any tutorials.

Chances are you either have to remove the c clip/ circ clip or you have to depress a pin while turning a cap on the back of the plug.

AT the same time .
Depress the pin and turn the cap counter clockwise to remove

Ah, the old screw cap with pin and spring lock up.
when you depress the pin with a hook pick and unscrew the cap,
The pin will fall out right away, but the spring will try to hide in the hole and await a chance to fall out unseen and hide in the carpet

another tailpiece fastener is the roll pin, a piece of rolled spring steel that can only be driven out with a pin punch. examine both ends before driving it, one end may be fatter, you dont want to drive that end any deeper in.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!
