I was wondering if I have ruined the lock...

Ruined Lock?

Postby LadyKatherine » 5 Aug 2004 11:05

I duplicated the stuck dead bolt lock on another EZSet. At least I think I did. After picking, I rotated the lock about 180 and it jammed and would not let me put the key back in.

I'm a newbie but this seems like about the same problem.

I tried pushing pins back and I also looked for spacers - so far nothing found.

Am I looking at a different problem or the same one?

Aha!

I picked this EZSet up at the hardware store for a buck (it was in the junk bin). It worked fine with the key but I didn't have a big investment so....

Since I had nothing to lose (and this about five minutes after my last post), I took the spring retainer off and found a bent spring on the back pin. It was jamming everything.
