Slightly amusing story: We took my son to his first university flat 3 months ago. He had bought a safe similar to this one because he thought it was cool. We transported it in the back of the car along with all his other gear. When we got there and open the tailgate, the safe (which was locked) fell out a couple of feet down to the ground. The door swung open.

Combo dial vibration,
Story is that in the early days of steamships, combination dial safes were found to open during the voyage, it seems that the ships vibrated the whole way accross from the steam engines. the combo locks had top dropping fences, and the brass dials with a bit of weight cut out would naturally end up with the gates lined up under the fence as the heavy side shook to the down position. :D

Hey, I don't make the rules here. It is designed to be a safe (most are fire resistant) and layman thinks it is a safe, so no talk in my opinion.

Zeke's one of the people who does, and he posted advice in this thread early on. :P
