Your problems with the shipping is because its free, therefore it goes in something other than first class. I think that you could get them to put it out faster if you pay more.
A couple of weeks wait for the ship to dock and the mail to get sorted is all part of the deal.
I read that one of the picks snapped, and newbie says the metal is cheep, I need more details, is it soft, and bendy, is it over hardened and brittle? I know that these types of picks have a plating on them so its not easy to see the steel.
If they are tempered steel, remember that often when tempering such thin metal, the quality of the temper can be different from one piece to the next and even from one end of the same piece to the other, if its quick flame tempered.
Im thinking of getting the multilock pick from them as its affordable, but I have only one multilock and I cant be sure what they mean by right up left down....etc.
If someone who understands the terminology would just make it a bit clearer so I could be sure of what I need.

As far as I understand it has to do with pin location when looking at it from the front, the most common of course being left down. Now, I don't know what's stopping you from using it on the other types of locks but I'm guessing they mention it for a reason. It was the first thing I looked up on the site after hearing about it in this thread, and although it's much cheaper than most places are selling it for, it's still 100$.

the picks are soft and bendy. However the one that snapped on me was not. Because of the rake design the more narrow base closer to the handle was softer then where the actual pick was cut at. The actual pick part that was made to rake the lock is way more solid and did not have anyflex to it all. I would say that rake is 3x-4x stiffer and more brittle then every other pick in the set. It was definently the thickest pick in that set. The other picks have not given me a problem at all though. It was the single sided rake.

I'm ordering some of these to leave in each vehicle. However I do have some homemade stubby picks I leave in my wallet at all times (used them exactly 4 times in emergencies)

I only have the 23-pce goso set (bought from UK), but Im not surprised if this and the klom may be manufactured by the same source, simply branded and packaged differently. Judging from threads where people talk about variations they found in their sets, there does not seem to be the kind of benchmark we tend to expect with sets made in Europe or USA, where what you see in the ad in pretty much what you get. Sets I saw on Youtube reviews had the goso logo, mine had LSLSY. No problem at all, but still leaves question marks over what the actual name or brand is, if any! My set had one pick that looked like it was pulled from another set. It was the odd one out in that the metal was not yellow like all the others but steel colour. Not complaining though as this was a dimple pick, quick happy to end up with two different types of dimple picks. (I believe goso is advertised as having only one). Incidentally, these dimple picks work well. I had only ever opened one dimple lock using pin tumbler tools, and always felt it was a fluke, weak lock or something. So I bought a strong dimple padlock and using either of these two picks opened it right away with no trouble at all. So they work. My picks were not bent, but some do seem to be slightly askew in their handle mountings. Sure, the quality of the metal is not award-winning, but for their price its still quite worth it I think.

the klom set is kinda big to leave around just cars as back up unless you drive a big car. the cheaper set would work but for an extra 5 or 10 bucks your better off getting quality. I would rather have 1 good set then have 2 cheap ones.

I got both sets of DX a couple of weeks ago.
Let me first take away any concerns people may have about DX. It's a vallid compagny that has pretty ok customer support (though It does take 24 hours everytime you "update" you ticket for them to reply). Most of there stuff works as it intended and is good for the money you spend. I litterly spend hundreds of dollars there and are a happy customer.
Example: You buy 10 LED keychains for 1,50. 2 of them don't work... BIG DEAL XD
SO, BACK ON TOPIC!
The 9 hook pinset does indeed come with a wierd tention wench, it works, but it's a bit big an thick, it would be good to have a few from other sets maybe. As for the picks, they hooks are nicely made, good feel and pretty sturdy. The dimond works fine, I have the feeling it's intended to rake your locks since it feels sturdier than the other picks.
The KLOM set is PACKED with picks, it has everything you could ever ask for plus allot you never even thought about asking for XD. In reality you won't use all the picks but the once that are usefull are worth the 32.50. The purse is a little on the tight side but I can't be bother by that, keeps things compact XD. The picks are of avarage to sub avarage quality. Not great, but it does the JOB. It's a great and really bad set for beginners in one, mainly because they are cheap but will break (a friend of mine broke my rake in a couple of strokes, though he did the same with my southord rake, so it might just be him). For the advanced lockpickers it's not bad because they will probably not break the tools so easily, however they may be demanding more of their sets and not be satisfied with this KLOM set due to poor desing (handle takes away your feeling and picks aren't of great quality.
ALL IN ALL I am satisfied with the KLOM set but only because you get ALLOT of picks for a sharp price. Even if you break some it's not all that bad.
The 9 hook set was better quality but I gave it to my local locksmith to keep us on friendly terms and because the KLOM set has enough picks in it.
I would advice others to ONLY buy the klom set if you want a complete set of picks. If you only need hooks deffinitly go for the advanced set, it's better quality and will suit your needs aswell.
