The key machine comes with the final set of lessons. If they shipped it at the beginning those on payment plans would not have an incentive to keep paying.

You're quite right. Having just finished Lesson 25, I can say it's picked up quite a bit. I had to take a break while reading the lesson on the Schlage wafer master systems.

My only real dislikes now are the long wait (they sent me a message saying the key machine and last four lessons have shipped), and the rather poorly written explanations. Don't get me wrong, I can make sense of what it says, it just seems....well, un-professional. I expected the lessons to read more like a textbook, something that could be used as a good reference material after taking the course. Maybe my expectations were not realistic. For those looking for something like that, I'd highly recommend Bill Phillips' "The Complete Book of Locks and Locksmithing". I have editions 3 and 6. I've heard that his book "Master locksmithing" isn't nearly as good. I'm hoping to take the "RPL" exam that's in his book after completing the FB course.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the course thus far, on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give an 8. I feel I've learned a lot, and the hands-on lessons are a great way to learn, and fun. Can't wait to get the key machine and the "bonus" lessons.

Not to mention the dee-plomas. :D

I would like to preview a course from FB. I am debating on buying the course due to the scams and such the internet is prone to.

If you want a preview watch ebay as you can usually pick up the books fairly cheap. If you want a review read this thread:
