Is it possible to take cylinder lock apart without destroying it? If yes, can somebody teach me how to do that?

I assume you are talking about an ACE type lock? Drill out the retaining pin in the side, you can replace it with a roll pin when you put it back together.

And I'm talking about cylinder door locks with two cylinders, like this one.

Whith this type of lock it's easier: you just need to take out the C clip... but illusion explained it better than I could do now. The only difference is that you have two plugs so you can only use the plug follower with the first cylinder. For the second one you can use another trick, but I prefer to practice with just one plug mounted. So I suggest you to completely disassemble your lock. Then mount just one plug to practice with. Happy picking

But he has a one-sided lock and I have a two-sided lock. There's no any C clips.

with the cyliner you have pictured you need a special tool to hold the top pins in, fist you haev to pick the cylinder around so the keyway is upside down, remove the clip on the back of the plug (next to the cam) and then slide the barrel out, and depending on the cylinder there is sometimes a cam inside that can fall out when the barrel is removed. I think I have to tool with me, I will take a picture later and post it up if you like, but i suggest not practicing pulling these locks apart till you have played around with a few other locks.

Showing us a picture will always get you much better answers. Show us a picture from the back, side, and top so we can see the lock body better. There should be a clip next to the cam, you may not see it if it is black and the cam is black. Squelchtone

Thanks lunchb0x, this tool could be useful for repinning double cilinders. I've seen something similar but this is absolutely better. I'll make a tool like this... Cheers

To put the lock back together I recommend either buying or making a tool like the one I posted, this way you can use tweezers to load the spring and top pins. they can be made fairly easy out of these paper clips, the clip holds the cylinder still and then all you have to do is solder on a piece of spring steel wire and bend it in place to hold the top tins in place.

You need a decent plug follower. You can make it from a candle, wooden dowel rod, copper tubing, or any other long round item that's as close to the same diameter as the plug as possible. Place a spring into the back most hole. Place a top pin into the same hole. Push the top pin down and slide the following tool over the hole to keep that pin in place. Do this again for the next hole and the next until all springs and top pins have been put back into the bible. Put the key that works the lock into the plug and replace all bottom pins in their appropriate spots then push the following tool out with the key in a slightly turned position. Once the tool has been removed, put the retainer clip back onto the plug and unlock the lock and remove the key.

With using a normal plug follower you would only be able to key up one side of the lock becuase when you try to key the other side you wont be able to remove the plug follower because the plug on the other side of the lock will be in the way.
