On my latest trip to Home Depot I noticed that there were some unfamiliar Master Locks out. I bought one, 34.50 for it and picked it in 4 seconds, then again in 7. So I went and got another and basically the same thing. Although I thought it was funny looking through them that the residential brand locks no longer put pick resistant on their packaging! I haven't been able to find a picture of this particular lock as of yet, if I can't find one soon I'll take a picture of this and post it. I'm not that great of a lock picker is the thing, these locks just really suck! although these locks look perfect for brute force type attacks. The lock I'm talking about though was not one of those beastly looking locks. I'll find one online and post in a while!
I realize Master has always been a pretty lame lock from the pick protection aspect but these new ones seem to really suck!

Those new ones just have a cut resistant shackle and are reinforced. there are several threads about these, and it seems that the insides are still the same. i was disappointed too

again just another lock that is made to protect against the wrong key inserted only. I think I know the ones you're talking about but after looking at the plug and seeing it was nothing special I moved on.

Sesamee, or master 175 as far as I know do not have backup keys, but some variants of it, such as the 'nautilus' brand do have a type of key that is used for combo changeing, sesamee just has a wire that goes down the shackle hole.

Are you surprised?? Master locks are crap and way over priced!
If you want a challenge, stay away from the master locks, (you'll just be disapointed), and go with somthing like a brinks, I bought mine for 12 bucks and it's full of serrated pins, a tight key way, and a real good challenge!
the only master lock that i've had challenge me was the 410, it's got spools and it's a 7 pinner!! (there hard to come by though)

raimundo: it has the combination on the bottom covered with a plastic water guard and then on the side is a key hole. next time i'm at homedepot ill write the model number down.
