good luck on ebay! I like the description of the DLP "the ball bearing is 'wild' "

You may want to try with text descriptions rather than a big image for everything too, that way search engines and people searching ebay descriptions can properly pick it up.

The titles are enough to attract people I think. I wanted a nice layout to display the locks rather than a crappy Ebay text ad. Within an hour of listing the profile I had 4 watchers so it must be working.

Its a shame about the cut making the bearing wild, I was thinking of drilling a small hole and inserting a peice of rod to hold it, but that can be for the next generation I make.

I figured I would get my aor in first before 'The Skyer' does.

This joker has 1 feedback on ebay, then wins the lock and sends me a 'pending paypal payment'.... basically it means i should post now and he confirms receipt , then i get the money. No no no no no!

Its too much messing about for me, so complain to ebay if you want, I'll just draw their attention to my other account which is bursting at the seams with brilliant feedback.

God sake, some people!

Now, if anyone wants a lock, they are going to be on ebay again this week...... please, only genuine buyers who send me 'normal' paypal payments.

Cheers :)

Just wait until you really have the money. Someone once bought my ABUS Plus pick and paid from his account and it took a couple of days to receive the money after PayPal said "pending".

Jaakko is right.
Paypal doe NOT offer an escrow service. You are not requested to send the item before you received the payment.
This seems to be a case where Paypal wants to receive the money first through direct debit or wire transfer, before they credit it to your account. Until then, just wait.

Your judgement about your customer might be a little bit premature.

I found out what it is!

Its Paypal & Ebay working together to stop fraudulent goings on.

So I called paypal (been a member for 8 years) and they said it works like this.

Any ebay account that doesnt meet certain criteria (under 100 FB, under 95%, less than 6 months created) is subject to this brand new amazing system to protect the BUYER (as if they wern't enough protected with being able to snatch payments back anyway).

So what happens is they send me the money.... it is pending, I can't use it to pay my fees or anything..... it says I have to send the locks, then based on the fact I get left a good feedback the money is released.... or if it is past 21 days with no dispute it is also released.

Anyhow, i call paypal & had to confuse the automated voice service for AT LEAST 10 minutes before it would put me through to a representative. I finally get through and spoke to someone.

I asked the question 'Ok, so assume that I send the locks.... the buyer doesnt like them, so my payment is denied and refunded to the buyer. What does Paypal do to monitor the return of the goods to me?'

The obvious answer from them was 'We will ask the buyer to provide us with proof of postage of the items back to you' so then I said 'Oh right.... I see! SO what if the buyer sends me an empty box back? Does paypal come to my house and wait for the package to see that the actual goods I sent out are in the box?' and obviously they had no answer for that.... so it just proves how flawed the system they are using is!

Because of all this messing about Ebay has lost a new seller of only 1 week because he is already fed up, and I am also very seriously concidering ditching paypal also!

MH, you are right about the new buyer...... I came across a bit heavy to him without knowing what was going on. I assumed he sent the payment with HIS terms stating he would not release the money till the items get there when infact it is automatically arranged by paypal and ebay together.

I appologise totally to THE SKYER thinking it was him trying to have me over, but when i registered the account I was told NOTHING AT ALL about this new system.

If you still want the lock, you can pay me directly to my paypal E-mail and I will contact Ebay to have the retaliatory feedback removed.

Hey SnowyBoy,

don't take me bad, but you decided to sell your locks via ebay, taking all advantages and disadvantages of their system. If you just want to sell your locks why don't you simply write a post in the buy sell trade area of this forum? Obviously your business base would be smaller, but also troubles should be.
If you want to get out most from your business... be patient with their rules and afford the risk.

All the best :)

Well Femurat I wanted to try all possible avenues (as you do when you start something up) to see where I do better..... it would be on that basis that I would decide where I want to sell permanently.

I have been an Ebay & Paypal member of 8 years and havn't heard abotu this system at all! I regularly accept payments of £300+ to my paypal account from my established Ebay account with none of this rubbish I have had to go through this week!

I will not be using the pro locks account anymore, and my FrenchConnectionUK account will solely be for buying and selling inexpensive items. So my only other option is to sell in the community instead.

One thing Ebay did do well for me was put me in touch with Han Fey who approached me to cut some locks away for him. So I suppose the saying 'every cloud has a silver lining' rings true.

I'll have an ad up when I've completed the new batch of locks :)

Paypal has treated me well over the years. Have had many pending payments and all turned out fine. Overall very satisfied with their service.

It's not Paypal really.... its payments sent there through Ebay. I've NEVER sent items in the my last 8 years without having physical 'COMPLETED' useable funds.
