Some very good hints here. Security pins do make picking a bit more challenging and making it yourself can be even more challenging. :D

I'm a DIY enthusiastic so I decided to try...

The first one didn't turn out good, cause I exaggerated with filing. The second one is a serrated pin, the third is a mix between a serrated and a spool. The fourth was supposed to be a spool, but it needs some extra filing at the bottom. The last one is the original pin. Keeping the pin in the dremel collet is difficult because it can fly away if not serrated enough. If you put too much pressure on the file you can fill its teeth with brass.
I'm quite happy with this experiment, even if I don't think the result worth the effort. But we are here for amusement... and I had fun :)

Yes. These are a few pins that havn't found their way into locks yet, and two factory spools for reference. I doubt I'll use the green one...
