Are there still some people interested in a group buy, I have decided that I do need one of these now so maybe we can start a list of who is interested, also is there anyone who would volunteer to order and send out the locks??
So for the list I woould be after 1 of the locks...

Depending on how large the order was I would probably be able to do it. Cheers, -XIII

I don't know if this is the same seller, but I bought my evva 3ks on ebay, and he accepted a payment of 15bucks =) he was clearing inventory so he let it go almost for free. Sweet deal for me =) try you luck messageing them with a lower price, you never know, they might say sure. this seller was selling for 45 bucks too

Erm...isn't the whole point of a group buy to get a lower price by buying enmasse?

Yes it is and wouldn't it be a good idea to find out who is interested and how many locks everyone is after which is the reason for my post, otherwise if no one else is interested I will buy one for myself.

we asked the seller to buy all 250 of his locks... at first he said um sure, but days later backed out and started selling them for $48 each. I waited a month and he went from $48 to $17. I think he'll go lower, but if everyone is buying at his $17 price, he has no incentive to go lower, ever. What gets me is when we offer him cash to buy all 250, he says he'll go as low as $15 each. Not a smart business man in my book, especially one who 'has to move inventory to make room for more stuff' The guy runs a pawn shop style store in Miami, and I believe he buys the contents of storage units that are abandoned or sold at auction for not being paid on time. Probably bought the contents including all these locks for $100 flat rate. I have these self storage unit auction in my area several times a year. Even if he went to $10 a cylinder buy it now, I don't know at this point if I would even do business with him, but if you need to go get a cylinder, go for it, its not like our advice stopped the other 10 people here who went and got one, which only keeps the price high for the rest of us trying to buy in bulk. I have no problem waiting till this guy is ready to sell them in bulk at a good price but it would be good to know how many people are serious about getting in a group buy, I'm not going to wait around till the seller will do a group buy at a good price only to find out that no one here is going to get in on the group buy. Also maybe if a list of everyone interested in a group buy had been done earlier the people have already bought a lock might not have knowing that if they waited a bit longer they could of got it a bit cheaper so by getting a list together now for everyone to see, those who are thinking about getting there own lock might hold out a bit longer...

He's down to 17.77 now. With a price like that, I don't know if I can say no anymore....

Sigh.. he was at $13.99 for while but people kept buying his $17.77 buy it now's so he stopped doing $13.99 and he's jacked it back up to $17.77. Have we not been clear that he has 250 locks and there is plenty for everyone so, just wait until he drops to $10 and you can get a couple instead of just one for $17.77. Do as you wish, but don't be surprised if his buy it now's become $19.99 next week because of everyone trampling each other to get them for $17.77. Squelchtone

When I said "I want one of this" I was serious. But now, after reading all this story, I changed my mind. This person offered all the locks to a board member in bulk and then, seeing a better opportunity, ignored the contract with us and started selling them one by one? If so, he can take all his locks and keep them for himself! If I make business with someone I need to trust him. I think money are not the most important thing! Think about that guys...

One thing to remember is that a Google search for "EVVA 3KS" or even "EVVA lock" brings up this site (though not this post) somewhere between the first and third hit. It's quite likely that the seller is following this thread, even if he doesn't have a presence in the community. (*waves*)
While I'd really like one (or more) of these locks, I'm willing to wait. The first place I found around on Google selling these new in Europe (UK specificially) has a similar rim-cylinder for £58.05 (excluding tax) (works out to be ~$86 USD) I have to wonder if we don't have some European lockies among us who could get access to used 3KS cylinders and resell them to us for around $20 USD each. I'd rather give a little more money to someone in the community than someone random guy who has been jerking people around.
