Recently I've been busy with my new toy... and I forgot all the other projects I was working on.

As you can see from the second picture, I opened it but a tall pin trapped my bogota. I had to lock it again to free the pick.
I tried all my picks in this keyway, and none worked well. The keyway of this lock is a work of art: nothing will fit it, its shape is designed to prevent picking. The edges of one side are tall enough to reach the opposite ones, so even a 0.001 mm pick couldn't move up and down if it's not perpendicular to the keyhole (and so you're pressing all the pins). I'll take a picture of the keyhole and post it if this description in not clear.

About the tension tool I've never been so lucky: the strange shape of the hole is the ideal place to fit my favorite wrench!

They say there are some mushrooms in there, but I used such a light torsion that I couldn't feel them! I hate when this happens. I tried to pick it again but I succeed in a few minutes, without feeling the security pins! This bogota is like a key... I want to build a special pick for this lock, something like this showed by ToolyMcgee. I wanna feel and enjoy all this good lock design one pin at a time!

Now it's a real pleasure to play with this lock. With this small hook I can appreciate all the good feedback and know exactly what's happening inside... This is one of the best padlock I've played with.

By the way, I've seen many videos with people easily opening this lock, but I think most of them are not fitted with this keyway. In fact this lock can be re keyed with different options: traditional, dimple, special... And watching the tools they use in some videos make me think they're playing with the less secure or older version of the lock.

thecrazy, do you mind to post a picture of your pick and keyhole? I'm curious to try your approach to this cool lock, but in the video I couldn't see them. It seems that you press a lot on the pins, or is it just an impression?

My pick is make of piano wire (steel wire).

Thanks for the pictures thecrazy. I've just bought some meters of 1,24 mm piano wire. This was the biggest diameter available where I found it. Let's see what can I do with this.

thanks to all you guys for these info. I remember my first encountering with this kind of padlock a few months back, with an instruction to open it with minimal or no damage at all. determined, but frustrated with my picktool mobility, i removed the bottom obstruction on the keyway. whosh! a hell of a job, and picked it. but now, with the info you all supplied.. the tools i made to remove that keyway might be as well be kept to rest.
