warning of rogue company

Postby lockey1963 » 29 Jan 2009 16:44

the below email is being circulated to as many uk locksmiths as possible, many have been hurt by this outfit, hopefully this post and this lockies email will save a few more from the same.

Dear Fellow Locksmiths,

We thought that you should be aware that the above company are using Locksmiths from up and down the Country to carry out works on its behalf and in our case, failing to pay subsequent invoices. We hope that you will read and forward this email to all other Locksmiths that you know in order to stop this despicable situation.

We were first contacted by Mr John Hubbard on behalf of Access 247 Ltd in August 2008 to carry out works with Warrant Officers from 2 separate agencies on the agreement that invoices would be paid on 60 day terms. In addition, we have also carried out works for various blue chip companies which were also sub-contracted to us by Access-247 Group Limited. To date, we have neither received payment or, a proposed offer of payment.

We, and at least 3 other Locksmiths that we know of, have obtained CCJ's against Access 247 Group Ltd and the matter is now in hands of the Sheffield Court Bailiff. However, it now seems that Access-247 Group Limited are no longer trading at it's previous registered office, 364 Handsworth Road, Handsworth, Sheffield and have moved to 4 Godfreys Yard, North Farm Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent. TN2 3DH with Mr Richard Green still as the registered Director.

In this current economic climate, we understand that cash flow is difficult and the same can be said for many a business however, Access-247 Group Limited have, despite many reminders and phone calls, failed to make even an offer of payment. We, like others we know, have just been met with silence when we make contact and we are aware that Access-247 Group Limited is still sub-contracting works to other un-suspecting Locksmiths. Whether these individuals are being paid or not, we are unaware.

If you are not affected by this company then please bear this email in mind should they contact you and please do forward it to as many Locksmiths as you know so that they can be in the picture.

We have forwarded a draft copy of this email to Access-247 Group Limited for comment but they have failed to reply.

Please also note that as far as we know, Access-247 Group Limited have been paid for the works that we carried out by its Customers and this email is in no way intended to cause concern or embarrassment for those companies. As a courtesy, we will forward this email to those Customers that we are aware of.

We thank you for your time and support. Please feel free to contact me should you require any further information. This includes Access-247 Group Limited.

Kind regards

Jack Vincent

Thank you for that. I will check on Monday, but I'm fairly certain a company I carry out work for had trouble with this outfit as well. If we did I will update more then.

I can confirm that a company I have carried out work for is also owed money by Access24/7. Furthermore, having spoken to another local lockie, I am pretty certain he is in the same position.

I gather there has also been a lot of chat about this company on the MLA forum.

One to avoid like the plague.

I have worked for them in the past and found it difficult to receive payment, only was my final bill settled at the threat of court action and I think I was lucky. I told them I'd not work for them again.

I have heard the other locksmiths doing work in my area now are too finding out they are not getting paid either so definitely one to steer well clear from.

Access 24/7, Access 24/7 UK Ltd, whatever they want to call themselves, if you hear the names Richard Green or John Hubbard put the phone down. The warrant work they cover is for Grosvenor. They also used to have the contract for TMaxx and Gala bingo halls...

I am also concerned that this group of 6 companies, of which (UK) still owes me monies and I have a CCJ against them, are using my office address as their registered office address. I can confirm that Access 247 companies have not, are not and never will be associated with the address 4 Godfrey's Yard, Tunbridge Wells.
Further to other comments, I can confirm that Mr. John Hubbard resigned all of his positions with the said Access 247 companies, some of which he was not aware that he held, and has not been associated with them since September 2008. Mr. Hubbard did not have control of the accounts and was not aware of the total financial state of the companies, although he was aware that they had cash flow problems, this was the main reason for his resignations. He has also been left with considerable guarantor liabilites due to the irregular dealings of Mr. Green. I am looking into these liabilities on his behalf.
I welcome any constructive comments on this subject.
