Hi all just to let you know my new dimple bump gun has arrived and only a month late I took the gun to a friend who not only wonted to try the gun, he also owns a hardware store with all the known makes of locks in Spain, also lots of not so known makes, as the gun came with ten different key profiles, we thought we had an afternoon of lock bumping, BUT NO, out of all the locks and ten key profiles only one fitted a lock made by TESA we then found the trigger on the gun is hit and miss (The guy on the sales cd had the same problem. perhaps its why he keeps changing guns and not just the end bit ??. )We then managed to make the trigger work using the gun on the seting as it came from the factory, not only did it not open the lock, it knocked out and bent the pins on a new lock and now the end of the bump gun is stuck in a new TESSA lock. I will now see how much it will cost to send the gun back to Hong Kong ? the gun is made by L.S.L and bought from deal exstreme.Befor someone else tells me, I know its not lock picking but I wonted a new toy (I mean tool ) To help me in my work untill my lockpicking inprove. I hope if you have one on order you have more luck than me, and if you haven´t made your order yet think again. regards PaulPablo

My co-worker and I have both bought items off Deal Extreme. In my opinion, the prices are cheap and the company is from Hong Kong so I treat the site the same way that I treat a dollar store. You get what you pay for and don't expect too much. Just my two cents.

Hi thanks for taking the time to reply to my post . and I agree with you on the price of things at deal extreme and I dont know how they can include free postage ? I also know you can´t keep all the people happy all of the time but if you spent $79.00 (they have now cheeper ) in the dollar store on something not working when you got it home .I think you may be disapointed ? and if you had tried to explane the problem to the dollar store by phone , fax and e-mail for over five months and had no reply I think your disapointment would incress ? I also agree with that you should get whot you pay for but I think $79.00 for a tool that is as useful as an ashtry on a motorbike is not getting my moneys worth ,I feel its deal extremes loss as they have lots and lots more things I would like to buy but untill I get a reply I will buy elsewhere . also did you see the feedback forum for dx ? Regards Paul pablo

Have to agree, the dimple bump gun is not worth buying, i to had the blades jam in the lock, i think these things are just gimmicks, they may be cheap in price, but they are also cheaply made, i'll stick to picking dimple locks by hand, one good thing though is i never brought mine, it was given to me to try as the original buyer couldnt get no joy from it either, i've told him numerous times to collect it as it now only collects dust, i'll never show it the light of day again

hi guys, i havent seen this dimple gun yet. however, i was about to finish my experimental bumpgun. there are some question in my mind that i want to find an explanation about this bumpgun. will it work? still remain to be seen. will it be effective? i find it out. the creteria of this experiment, are: 1.spring tension should be adjustable. 2. distance from key to hammer must be maintained. 3. there should be a visible guide on my adjustment of the spring sort of 1-2-3-4 etc. once i finish the project working or not i will keep you posted.regards

why dosent any one stick with the old way of lock picking? buying this modern lock bumping rubbish is insane, when 2 second with a standard slim line s pick and a tension tool and i can have the door open faster than a guy saying look at me i have a bump key. whats the point? the old ways are the best. now with mortice were being forced to move on with the curtains. but any cylinder is simple. and yes i've had a go at the dumple ones. no problem.

Back when this thread was first posted, I think the "old way" of lock picking had just been invented. In all seriousness, though, I think the bump-key craze has died down a lot over the last few years; for most hobby lock pickers, it was more of a curiosity than any sort of desire to give up picking.
