How about buying lock-picks and developing a skill and a hobby/sport/passion for the game?

Opening padlocks that you already own the keys for that are sitting in your hand with a pickgun, well, that's just... what's the point?

I already own some picks and can use them to pick locks. I just wanted to upgrade to a pick gun as Ive wanted one ever since a few years back my wife locked her keys inside the house and a lock smith came out and opened the house up in like 10 seconds flat using a gun.

So can anyone recommend one of the guns I linked to above?

You have a padlock on your house door?

I wouldn't recommend a pick gun. It is a bad habit, kind of like raking... only worse.

Dont buy this one for a start http://www.gadgetsdirect.com.au/index.p ... s_id=17256 its total junk and does not work very well, if at all, the electric pick gun will help with some locks as will the manual snap guns, some people get the misconception that pick guns will open all locks, I along with others wish they did, but then there would be no need for locksmiths as everyone and his dog would own a pick gun  the comb picks will open a few locks but they are limited to what makes they will do and after a few minutes they will be forgotten about and left in the tool box (thats if they ever make it in there in the first place).
If you really want a pick gun then either the electric or the manual one will do, one just travels faster than the other, but learn to use them properly otherwise you will end up with loads of brass dust coming out of the lock, and yes, the pick gun will open a lot of padlocks as well.

I have the Dino one, what I do like about it is that you can pull it apart to fix it easily but what I don't like is that the needles for them are too thick and I don't like the spring in it, I have always used a Lockaid pick gun which also has a life time warranty. It can be bought from either locksmith supply Co. in Australia but they wont sell to the public.

Also like already said don't get one, you wont have any fun with it after 5 minutes and would of wasted $70, there only needed for the pros.

thanks for that. that sucks that locksmith supply co's wont sell to public. i would like to get a pick gun/picks but worry that if i order form overseas aust customs will seize them and i'll lose my money and goods.

Dont suppose anyone knows any locksmiths or supply co's in aust that will sell to public?

I believe some guys are just into gadgets. They like having new toys and using them. It does not mean they don't enjoy picking locks. I am guilty of buying a useless new toy. For example I have an electric pick gun yet I have never used it in any situation other than to play with it after I bought it. I think I bought it just to have a new toy to play with which was kind of stupid but initially pretty fun. Yes I know it sounds like a disease but.....
