With regard to the spring style at the begining of this post, all I did was solder a female spade style crimp connector to each end of the spring and was then able to slip both ends of the wrench into the connectors. The beauty of this is that you now have something of a "universal style" wrench because you can make several different sizes of ends and change them at will.

Although I enjoyed the OP's submission the convex edges on the cooled solder screamed
"cold joint". I wanted an alternative to JB Weld.
The feeler gauge looks like a neat way to solve my ham fistula afflicted maladroitness.
(as I've put one eye out while picking my nose... )
These are great suggestions nonetheless and I really enjoy this site's collection of creative

I have a question about the coiled spring steel wrenches. Is there a good way to make it lay flat for a pick case? I have been ising the southord feather wrench and its a bit too clunky for me. This one looks like it would be fairly sensitive. I need to find a piece of spring steel long enough. Thanks for posting.

I made the spring one a while back and it worked fantastic for those curious. Only down fall is you lose sensitivity in the spring.
