Cheap overnight shipping, inexpensive picks?

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Cheap overnight shipping, inexpensive picks?

Postby subver » 22 Jun 2009 5:55

Hey
So I went to SouthOrds site to order the beginners Pick set - seems nice for a beginning hobbyist. I'm so eager to try them out I wanted to overnight them, but it costs $40 to overnight the $16 set.
Is there a site out there selling picks with overnighting at least in the $20 range?

Also, why is that beginners set so inexpensive? I hear great things about SouthOrd, are these good quality as well?
I'll pay decent money for a good hook, 1/2 diamond, rake and tension tool (although I might just make that out of a wiper insert) if I can get cheap overnighting.

How long does SouthOrd typically take to ship from when you order it online (to New York)?
I'm just so eager to get started on this new hobby of mine!

In the meantime I might make my own picks, but I ifigured I should get a feel of real ones first.
Any tips or suggestions?
Thanks!

sorry this is an old thread, but you should never waste money on overnight shipping unless you are a locksmith in need of a special tool to do a job to get paid.

that being said, SouthOrd is a GREAT company i just think that set is cheap priced because they make so many of them and they are cheap to make material wise.

Id buy it and wait the 24days or whatever it takes just to get 'real' picks...then I would make as many as I could, using the southord ones as guides. :)
