Hey everyone,
You know, I've seen a few videos of on Youtube of some people picking locks using two and sometimes even three tension wrenches. I am pretty sure I can find the videos in question if people wish to see them, but for the most part, I am curious what the logic/theory is behind using more than one tension wrench. Anybody know?

Sometimes it's nice to bulk out a tension wrench by doubling it up in order to stop it slipping out. Sometimes it is nice to be able to have both top and bottom tension to either get a nice, centralised plug rotation or to be able to push the plug backwards out of a false set when you don't have the spring bias of say a padlock plug to help you.
Overall it can help you maintain more control over the movement of the plug but in most cases will not be necessary and when it is, you'll already know.

I've used two wrenches (one in top, one in bottom) on a few occasions for the reason Olson described above. By pressing on one clockwise and the other counter-clockwise; you can get more control over the plug. Getting out of nasty false sets is much easier if you can physically turn the plug the "wrong" way. Two locks I can remember using doubles on are Evva 3KS (unsprung sliders) and Assa Twin (nasty security pins).

I never used more than one tension wrench,i got used to only using one sometimes i use tension on top of key way,but still i only use one tension using two tension i try on american lock 1105 with no luck.I've seen on youtube using two tension on american locks 1105 or 1100.I try using two tension on these american locks, but for some reason i can't open it with two tension wrench i can open them with only one tension, either using top key way or bottom key way,but then again that just me.

Its also useful for the times your tension keeps slipping......you don't have to keep starting from the beginning.

must go to shop and make double sided tention wrench lol I mean Thats a great idea im going to go and bend some wiper blades. Im going to put the 90 deg then make the long handle, bend it so it comes back on itself, past the 90 to make the other side handle. Sounds simple enough...
