Anyone tried this? How effective/ineffective have you found it to be?

I haven't personally tried it, but I hear that it is SCARILY effective on dimple type locks.

I've got a dimple lock I picked up from ebay in a massive set I bought a year or two ago. I'll try this method someday but I do remember reading about pop sickle sticks and aluminum foil making these locks worthless sometimes.

I have used foil impressioning on wafer locks but prefer to use determinators and will usually pick read a pin lock and finish it off by impressioning

I recently made my own foil impressioning kit and it worked on the lock I designed it around but you need several different shaped 'holders' for it to be effective for most locks.

I got a small hacksaw blade and dremel'ed pin width size holes into it but you've gotta be real careful about how much metal you leave between each hole, it has to be very small and exact, as do the holes themselves. Quite fiddly but worth it when the lock opens!
