klom 30 piece set question

Hi guys,
I've just ordered the klom 30 piece set from pick n tools for £30 delivered which sounds cheap and cheerful.... However after searching all over the site I cant find any info on the uses of some of the picks included.. ..Can any one post a tut regarding the use of these picks or point me in the right direction before they arrive....Much appreciated

You're probably referring to the dimple and cruciform picks. Dimple picks are used in dimple locks (horizontal keyway) and cruciform picks are used in locks with four rows of pin-tumblers, arranged in a star shape. All the others are traditional pin-tumbler picks.

There are some odd bits in kloms sets, like the little things that appear to be flat metal stampings of the mercedes key sillouete, there are various odd probes to look into locks, one is offset another has a probe that is 3 or 4 inches long and a weird plastic handle. Another pick appears to be a large square head on a pickshaft, when I first saw it, I thought it was a blank to encourage people to file their own pick tips from. But now I believe its part of some automobile pick of some kind.

Yes, if anyone here can understand the language in the cd that came with these picks and translate it, I don't have that cd but I have heard about it, and it needs to be translated, if not by the company selling them then someone here may be able to listen to it and tell us what these "mystery picks" are.

They don't have a full body tang (blade of the pick doesn't run all the way through the handles) the handles dampen feedback & the metal they use is a bit odd.

I don't mean to be so blunt, but I've never been a big fan of their products. They are wildly affordable and provide some very interesting shapes, but they are the absolute enemy of feedback.
