Hi, I'm completely new to this lock picking malarky, I found this site completely by accident but I seem to be getting hooked! I made my first snap pick today (not yet tested), also a tension wrench from a wiper insert I found in the street. I'm most interested in making my own picks from whatever I see lying about, I guess I'm just that way inclined! I saw an interesting post on how to make a shim from a pop can, might give that a go too.
But enough babble, I'm from England, I love puzzles and I guess that is what attracts me to lock picking, it's a strange and practical way to think outside the box. Who know's, it might come in handy some day too :-)

Hi all. New here too, having my hours cut at work and was looking at becoming a locksmith, but on looking through the posts over the past three days im kind of worried now. lol.
Its been on the back burner for bout 4 yrs now, and thought id start to look into it. The reason being i used to be a warrant officer for 3 yrs working for debt collection companys and a balliffs. Can pick a basic 3/4 lever lock, and can use a piece if plastic to open certian doors.
Any way will carry on researching before i jump in the deep and there will be many questions! lol

Hi my name is Tom and I'm from just west of Gainesville Florida. locks have been of intrest to me for a long time, I guess about fifty years or so. Well I am finally going to really learn about them by taking the Foley Belsaw course and reading the forums. I also have started picking locks and find it relaxing and a way to get your mind off other matters.

Hello all pickers. I am Eric and I do home remodeling and handyman work with a friend ofd mine. After fifteen years of being a network engineer that has caused me to despise computers. I have been getting into locksmithing to add to our repertoir of work. I particularly like picking locks, it's very relaxing. There is nothing like showing a customer how easy it is to break into their house and then giving them sucrity upgrade suggestions.

Hi all,
I'm very new to locksmithing and I am looking at it as a part time thing as I'm currently unemployed. I've recently completed a course and was suprised at how easy it was to open various locks. It's quite unnerving actually. Anybody out there(pref UK) got any good hints/tips for staying updated?

Hi there, I'm kyle, a locksmith from Ontario, Canada. Found your site while looking for a solution to find the combo on an ABUS marine 180IB/50 that a customer incorrectly tried to set the combo for. Asides from the obvious going through each number at a time that is. Seems I still lack access to some areas of the forum that would pertain to this topic.

Hello all,
I've been wanting to get into locksport for a while now, and I just got back from a pre-con talk at DefCon about the basics of lockpicking and this forum was mentioned. It look like an awesome resource and I'm sure that I will spend countless hours reading through threads. This looks like an awesome community! Looking forward to being a part of it.

Hi everybody. i'm new here, but i've been a fan of the idea of lock picking since i first saw it in a movie (the name of which eludes me) when i was about 10.
i have only recently been able to acquire a set of picks as i don't generally buy things offline and have yet to find a place in West Virginia that sells them, but i've yet to come across a regular household deadbolt or knob lock that i couldn't get past with 5 or so minutes of work.
ive been offering a sort of lock-out service for my close friends and family (along with the guys at my local armory who always misplace their locker keys) for a few months now, and i've been trying to find information about becoming a recognized locksmith in my state (WV) if anybody could help me with some detailed info about that process please feel free to PM me.
i look forward to happy times on this forum.
