Tubular lock pics of different diameters?

Postby cantstopspinning » 24 May 2009 9:34

I recently purchased a tubular lock pic from southern specialties. It works great on most tubular locks that I've gotten through ebay and random bike locks, etc that you can find in home depot or walmart. But there are a few random 7 pin tubular locks in my collection that it seems the outer diameter of the pick is too large for the lock. When you insert the pick the tube is touching the pins in the lock when it should be smaller so the pics should be the only thing in contact with the pins. Hopefully I explained it in a way everyone can understand

Anyways, does anyone know of another tubular lock pick that has a smaller diameter than others? Unfortunately I don't have a pair of vernier calipers on hand to give the outer and inner diameters of my pic.

Is it a quick reset one?

I've seen on the net that you can buy ones for tubular locks with smaller diameters.

I've got one and its the opposite - it won't fit in most of the locks I come accross but some it fits in sweet and works fine.

HPC has just recently advertised a new tubular pick with a smaller diameter pick head. FYI

there are multiple diameters

there is one pick that you can remove the head and put a different head for the smaller diameter or the octagonal shaped"tubular" locks

have fun

the standard size tubular pick in the usa is the 7.8mm diameter and the smaller size is 7.5 mm..You can also buy smaller sizes for for freezer /gumaball vending ect but not to common...
